“Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
Why Give?
In his Sermon on Kingdom Life, Jesus speaks about the danger of storing up for ourselves treasures on earth. Then he provides this brilliant insight into the human heart; investing our financial resources inevitably leads us to make emotional and spiritual investments as well. In other words; our hearts follow our money.
Jesus thus transforms a spiritual obstacle into a spiritual weapon; we can combat greed, selfishness, and the idolatry of money by placing our treasure where God’s heart is. Giving to the poor, and supporting the church, shapes our inner beings into people who love like Jesus. Our Rabbi invites us into this virtuous cycle – Kingdom Living, Kingdom Giving.
Included in this letter is a brochure describing some of the ways our church family has practiced Kingdom Living this year. Each page also has our aspirations for 2026, both in terms of new ministries, and the cost to continue/increase our ministry and mission.

How do I decide what to give?
Imagine the below ladder of generosity, and consider your next step.
The first rung is a gift of any kind. If you've never made an offering to a church or charity, doing so for the first time is enormously significant!
The second rung is regular giving. Making the church a reoccurring part of your personal or family budget is a major step, whether you chose to give weekly, monthly, or even annually.
The third rung is proportional giving. The term "tithe" comes from the Old Testament, and refers to the practice of giving 10% of your income to the Temple. If you've never given proportionally, beginning at 10% might be overwhelming. Instead, pick a smaller percentage (maybe 1-2%) and plan to give that percentage this year. Next year, increase your percentage slightly, until over time you reach the 10% goal.
The fourth rung is extravagant generosity. After you've met the Old Testament standard of the tithe, it's time to work towards Jesus' New Testament directions. Jesus models and teaches us to live a life of extravagant generosity, above and beyond the tithe. We are called to follow his example, and give sacrificially, as we attempt to reflect the character of our extravagantly generous God.
We recommend reading Nelson Search's Generosity Ladder for more conversation on this topic.
How do I give?
CCPC utilizes a system called Planning Center Online for all of our bookkeeping, membership, and giving applications. It is through this system that we make giving online possible. However, you can always give in person on Sunday mornings, or by visiting us at our church office.
