“If you aim at nothing you
will hit it every time.”

- Zig Ziglar

This statement has never been truer than in the life of a child/teen as they grow up in the church. If not intentional about the discipleship of our KIDS and TEENS, we can easily miss a huge landmark that is pivotal in their faith journey.

At Covenant Community we vow with each baptism that we will support a child on their faith journey. What is our vision for those children by the time they graduate high school? Are they ready to launch into adulthood? What do we hope for them? Are we proud of how we raised them? Do we trust God to guide their direction? Can they navigate the world around them through their beliefs in God? Have we given them a good map so they can find their way?

We recognize this is a partnership, and through the direction of the Holy Spirit, there are important roles and responsibilities not just for the church, but for parents and children/teens as well. Just like a roadmap directs our travels, our spiritual lives need mile-markers, directions and celebrations to reach their end destination - an abundant life long relationship with Jesus.

Our spiritual roadmap is made of five key areas that we feel cultivate a child’s faith.

experiences - relationships - biblical knowledge
spiritual habits - behavior/worldview

Within these five areas we have outlined expectations and goals not only for the church, but also for our children and parents or spiritual guardians.
